A passport with at least six months until its expiry date is mandatory

A Brazil–Qatar agreement ending the visa requirement for holders of passports from both countries is effective

The document was signed during the visit of President Jair Bolsonaro to Qatar in October last year, at the ceremony in the Royal Palace, in Doah, where the Brazilian leader was welcomed by Sheikh Tamin Bin Hamad Al Thanil, emir of Qatar.The move allows Brazilian and Qatari nationals holding a common passport to remain valid for at least six months to visit both countries without a visa, for tourism, transit, or business.

The deal stipulates that any party may totally or partly suspend the waiver, especially over security reasons, or after new visa requirements are introduced by Brazil or Qatar.“The suspension must be notified the other party at least in 30 days before it is brought into force,” the document reads.Translation: Fabrício Ferreira Edition: Aécio Amado / Nira Foster Tags: QATARVISA WAIVER
